The film "Metropolis" was made by legendary European film maker, Fritz Lang. 

The movie was written by Lang and his wife, Thea Von Harbou. Metropolis was the most expensive silent film made. The film cost over 7 million Reichsmarks ( approximately 200 million U.S. Dollars in 2005 dollars).

The film Metropolis, was set in the futuristic urban area of Dystopia. The film examines the social relationships between the workers and the factory owners in a capitalistic society.
