Giovannia Da Verrazzano was the first explorer to reach the land now called New Jerse in the year 1524

The settlers of early New Jersey included the Swedes and the Dutch. The early Dutch settlement was called New Netherland, it was seized by the British in 1664.

New Jersey was one of the original 13 colonies. In 1787, New Jersey was the third state to ratify the newly drafted Constitution of the United States of America. This section has numerous prints from the revolutionary war era in New Jersey to the early 1900s.
